Grief Counseling in Beaver County

Grief can follow the death of someone you love, a difficult diagnosis, a divorce, or a life that looks different from what you expected. There's no right way or right timeline to grieve. But when the weight of loss makes it hard to function, or you feel alone in it, counseling can help you carry what you're holding.

How we help

A steady place to talk. You'll have space to talk about the person or the life you've lost, without being rushed toward “moving on.”

Making sense of complicated feelings. Sadness, anger, guilt, relief and numbness can all be part of grief. We help you understand them and find ways through.

Coping tools and resilience. Your counselor will help you build practical ways to get through hard days, anniversaries and holidays, and, if you want it, room to wrestle honestly with questions of faith.

What we can help with

Loss of a spouse, parent, child or friend, anticipatory grief during a loved one's illness, grief after a diagnosis, divorce and other life changes, and grief that has become stuck over time.

Who you will work with

Alyssa Sutton, LCSW, has a background in grief and loss, chronic and life-limiting illness and caregiver support. She works with children, families and adults at a warm, unhurried pace, in New Brighton and by telehealth.

A note on matching

Who you're matched with also depends on your insurance and whether that counselor is in network with your plan. Most of our clinicians are also trained to help with concerns beyond their listed specialties, so you may be matched with a counselor who isn't named above.

Not sure where to start?

Tell us a little about what's going on, and we'll match you with a counselor whose specialties, location and insurance fit you. We see clients in person in New Brighton and Greenville and by telehealth, and we're in network with most major Pennsylvania insurance plans, including Highmark, UPMC, Aetna, Optum and Medicaid. Request a session below or call 412-438-3005.

If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, don't wait for an appointment. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911 in an emergency.
